If the Modern Media Covered the Arian Controversy

The whole empire is buzzing with controversy started by the courageous theologian Arius.  He is the leader of a new, energetic movement in Christianity offering a fresh look at ancient doctrines.  One which he believes will help people relate better to Jesus.

Here is what Arius had to say in our recent interview:

Arius, who has received much pushback from reactionaries and even endured physical violence, coined the term "homoiusias" to describe Jesus’ relationship to God.  This means Jesus is "Like God's nature".  This new understand is gaining ground with believers and Church leadership, even as certain hardliners assert that Christ was completely Divine - using their term "homousias".

We asked Arius to comment on the importance of this distinction:

Surveys have shown that 68% of Christians do not see the importance of this distinction and would rather the Church direct its energies toward charity efforts.  Some even regard the traditionalists as having an "obsession" with the issue of Jesus' divinity.

Marius Flavius, who distributes food to the poor in a Roman slum noted:

We also sat down with the controversial conservative Bishop Athanasius to get his take.  Here is what he had to say:

But many do not want Bishop Athanasius, and his shrinking number of allies, to define the Church's purpose as defending rigid doctrines.  So for the foreseeable future, this controversy will remain unresolved.

  1. Hahahahah, nice take on the modern version of this early church heresy, just my thoughts and feeling about this devastating heresy. The church had only just tasted it freedom from what seems it endless brutal Roman persecutions for the first time ever Christians we able to go out to the streets and share their faith openly, the victory was so profound that even the bishops, priest and leaders at the council of Nicaea arrived fully decked out, I read somewhere that some had to be carried in as they had lost limbs subjected to gruesome tortures where they stood their ground defending that -Jesus Christ is God-. Only to attend a 1st ever empire wide Christian gathering to defend what they had to endure for the faith.

Arius live and witnessed what had happened to his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ had to endure for the faith and the first thing he does is to sow discord and create confusion, to say that he was insensitive to them is simply an understatement. To bluntly put it what he had done was purely evil absolutely void of the love for God and neighbor he was very much a new Judas.
