Recipe: The Lentburger

Last year I decided to give veggie-burgers a try during Lent.  Much to my surprise, I liked them a whole lot.  That is to say... after I put my own spin on it.

Tonight I'd like to share with you my own creation - the Lentburger.

You will need:

  • Peanutbutter
  • 2 x Slices of Cheese
  • Slim sandwich buns
  • 2 x MorningStar Garden Veggie Patties

You cannot have meat on Lented Fridays or days of mandatory fasting, but you still need to keep your strength up.  Start with a healthy helping of peanutbutter.

If you're not sure how much to use, just remember you have to make it through a whole day without meat.  Play it safe.

Next fold the first slice of cheese into triangular halves.  Then do it again.  You now have four equally sized triangles of cheese.  Place it atop the peanut butter.

Peanutbutter and cheese, you ask?  Yes.  Peanutbutter and cheese.

The Church has dogmatically declare that all burgers and sandwiches must contain cheese.  You don't want to be a heretic do you.  DO YOU?!

Now add the two veggie-burger patties.  One on each side.

Take the other slice of cheese and fold it the same as before.  Place the triangles atop one of the patties.

Unite the sides.  While you are doing this, pray for the unity of the Church.

You have now created a Lentburger.  Heat it up and enjoy the veggie-peanutbuttery-cheesy goodness.
